Privacy Policy
StereoCam is a 3D camera app for iPhone. This policy covers the app and this website.
Summary
The app collects nothing. It keeps your photos and videos on your iPhone and never sends them to us. The app has no accounts, no servers and no analytics. The only outside service it talks to is Apple’s App Store, for purchases. If you use iCloud Photos or iCloud Backup, Apple keeps copies of the photos StereoCam adds to your library, and of the app’s files, in your own iCloud account. We can’t see them. This website asks for your email address only if you request the subscriber gift (see below).
What the app uses, and why
- Camera: to film with two rear cameras at the same moment and make 3D photos and videos. The phone’s own depth reading is used, on the phone, to set the 3D and to warn when something is too close.
- Microphone: asked the first time you choose Video, to record sound with your videos. Without it, videos are silent.
- Photos (add only): every photo and video you take, and every copy you save, is added to your photo library. The app can’t see the rest of your library.
- Photos you pick: “Import from Photos” opens Apple’s photo picker. The app receives only the spatial photos and videos you pick, makes 3D copies of them in its gallery and leaves the originals untouched.
- Motion sensors: to know when the phone is held sideways, to draw the level line and to steady videos.
- Battery, temperature and free storage: checked on the phone to warn you when the battery is low, the phone is hot or storage is nearly full.
All of this happens on your iPhone. Lining up the two pictures, the depth and the wiggle are all worked out on the phone, and nothing is sent anywhere.
What is kept on your iPhone
- Your shots: each photo and video is kept inside the app for its gallery, with a small file of technical notes used to line up the 3D (camera settings, alignment, tilt and phone model). An imported item also notes the photo picker’s ID, so the same item isn’t imported twice.
- Camera setup notes: one file describing your iPhone’s cameras (phone model, camera formats, lens calibration and any camera errors), used to line up the 3D. It is replaced as you film and removed when you delete the app.
- Your settings: picture shape, video size and frame rate, view mode, wiggle speed, whether you’ve seen the tutorial, whether StereoCam Pro is unlocked, the lens calibration the app measured, and how many shots you’ve taken (for the first-use tips).
- Free-shot counter: how many of the free photos or videos you’ve used, and whether the StereoCam Pro screen has appeared. It is kept in the iPhone’s keychain, so it stays when you delete and reinstall the app. It holds only those numbers, isn’t synced through iCloud Keychain and is never sent to us. Like the app’s other files, it is part of your iPhone’s encrypted backup, so restoring a backup onto a new iPhone brings it back.
- Share files: when you share, the app makes a new file, for example a wiggle video. It sits in the app’s temporary folder and is removed the next time you open the gallery.
What we don’t do
- No accounts, no sign-in.
- No analytics, no ads, no tracking, no third-party SDKs.
- Nothing is uploaded: the app has no servers.
- We never see your photos, videos or anything else on your phone.
Sharing
When you tap Share, the file goes only where you send it, through Apple’s share sheet. After that, the app or person you sent it to decides what happens to it, under their own privacy policy.
Purchases
StereoCam Pro (Monthly, Yearly or Lifetime) is sold and handled by Apple. We never see your name, payment details or Apple Account. The app only asks the App Store whether you own Pro. Manage or cancel a subscription in Settings › your name › Subscriptions.
Subscriber gift and news emails (this website)
On this website you can ask for a subscriber gift: a personal App Store code for StereoCam, sent by email. It is a welcome gift for joining emails from Sebastian Škoić s.p. about StereoCam and our other apps, so you only get it if you agree to receive them. When you ask for it, we collect your email address, language, a record of your consent (when you gave it and which wording you agreed to), delivery and unsubscribe status, and the App Store code assigned to you. To prevent abuse and give each address the gift only once, we also keep keyed hashes (scrambled fingerprints) of your email and IP addresses.
We use this to send you the gift email, then occasional news and promo codes for StereoCam and our other apps. Cloudflare runs this website and the form and stores the record, Brevo sends the emails and keeps the mailing list, and Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the request comes from a person. Apple processes the code when you redeem it.
- Legal basis. Your consent for the emails (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). For the abuse checks (the hashes and the security check), our legitimate interest in handing out the gift fairly (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Withdrawing consent. You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to us. This doesn’t affect emails already sent, and a code you already received stays valid.
- How long we keep it. We keep your record while you are subscribed. When you unsubscribe, we remove your address from the mailing list and keep only the record of your request, so your unsubscribe is respected and the address can’t claim the gift again. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
Other companies
The only other company involved in the app is Apple: the App Store for purchases, plus the iOS features the app uses (camera, Photos, the photo picker, the share sheet). Apple’s handling is covered by Apple’s Privacy Policy. If you turned on Share With App Developers (Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements), Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. Apple also gives us anonymous download and sales totals. None of this identifies you.
This website
This website has no analytics, no ads and no tracking cookies. It remembers the language you pick, in your own browser only. Cloudflare hosts it and, like any web host, processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the pages.
How long things are kept, and deleting them
- Shots stay in the app until you delete them in the gallery (open one and tap the trash, or tap Select, pick several and tap the trash). Their technical notes are deleted with them. The gallery is part of StereoCam Pro; without Pro, deleting the app removes the shots kept in it.
- Copies in your photo library stay until you delete them in the Photos app.
- Deleting StereoCam removes everything it kept on the iPhone except the free-shot counter in the keychain. That is removed when the iPhone is erased (Settings › General › Transfer or Reset iPhone), unless you then restore a backup that has it.
- Turn camera, microphone or Photos access off or on any time in Settings › Privacy & Security. Without the camera StereoCam can’t film; without the microphone videos are silent; without Photos your shots are kept in the app only.
The app sends us no data about you, so for the app there is nothing for us to delete or hand over. If you email us, we receive your address and what you write, use it only to answer you, and delete it once your question is settled, or sooner if you ask.
Children
The app collects no data from anyone, including children. The subscriber gift on this website is only for people aged 16 or older: if you are under 16, please do not sign up. If we learn that someone under 16 has signed up, we delete their email address.
Your rights
Email support@stereocam.app to access, correct or delete the email records we hold, restrict or object to their use, or receive them in a portable format. You can withdraw your email consent at any time, as described above. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU or EEA country where you live or work, or in the UK to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Data handled by Apple, such as purchase records, is governed by Apple’s policies.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update the effective date above and highlight material changes on this page before they take effect.
